Mavis A. (Watson) Foust, 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Rolling Fields in Conneautville from a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Mavis was born on October 26, 1941, the daughter of Ezra and Harriette (Cole) Watson. She lived in Linesville, during her childhood and graduated from Linesville High School in 1959. On January 12, 1962, she married Jack Foust. Together they raised a family and remained life-long residents in the Conneaut Lake area. Mavis was a homemaker and also helped with bookkeeping for the family business, Foust Excavating.
Mavis was a life-long member of Linesville First Baptist Church. She served as both a Sunday School Teacher and a deaconess. She loved spending time with family, especially at the family camp in Tidioute, Pennsylvania. She was known for her kind and compassionate nature, always willing to help others.
She is survived by two daughters, Jacqueline Seagle (Mark) of Linesville and Susan Larson (Charles) of Meadville; a sister, Melody Law (Thomas) of Saegertown; two daughters-in-law, Lori Foust of Linesville and Linda Foust of North Carolina; and a sister-in-law, Judith Foust of Conneaut Lake. Other survivors include nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, several nieces and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Jack Foust; a sister, Janet Watson; two sons, Rod Foust and Kenneth Foust; a brother-in-law, Robert Foust; and a grandson, Davy Durfee III.
Calling hours will be Sunday, January 7 from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 8 at the Linesville First Baptist Church, 6114 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville with Pastor Chris McLaughlin officiating. A dinner will follow in the church social hall.
Interment will be private at the Foust Family Cemetery in Conneaut Lake.
