Alvin James Eakin, 86, of Linesville passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at the Meadville Medical Center.
Born March 17, 1938, in Apollo, Pennsylvania, he was the son of James and Cora (Gess) Eakin.
Alvin was a 1956 graduate of New Castle High School. He served our country in the United States Army Reserves. He was a truck driver and from 1983 until 2019 managed Bill and Al’s Mobile Home Services.
Alvin attended Pilgrim Holiness Church in Linesville. He was a member of the Pymatuning Sportsman’s Club in Linesville, the American Legion Post 462 in Linesville and the Crawford County Archeology Society.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, archeology, ancestry, and cherished spending time with his family.
Survivors include his children, Robert Eakin and his girlfriend, Lexi, Randle Eakin and his wife, Yvonne, Carol Lee Palumbo and her husband, Brian, Donna Eakin, Megan Eakin, Amanda Eakin, and George Freeman and his wife, Danielle; 12 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and one great-great grandson; a brother, David Eakin and his wife, June; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his companion, Mary Ann Palmer; a son, Timothy Eakin; and two brothers, Alan and Gary Eakin.
A private graveside service will be held at Rundell Cemetery in Conneautville with Rev. Trevor Mills of the Linesville Pilgrim Holiness Church officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pilgrim Holiness Church, 307 E. Erie Street, Linesville, Pa 16424.
Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Hwy 6, Linesville.
