April Darlene (Carter) Gift

April Darlene Gift, 81, of Linesville, passed away on October 21, 2023, at her residence.

Born April 14, 1942, in Meadville, she was the daughter of Lloyd and Sara (Ketter) Carter.

When she was younger her family moved to California and April graduated from Reseda High School in California.  While in California she helped take care of horses for many movie stars and famous people.  She had two very important horses of her own named Sonny and Tough Guy, who was the great-great grandson to Man of War.  Horses were the love of her life.

In 1956, her family moved back to Linesville.  April worked for Andover Industries for almost 42 years.

Survivors include a sister, Annette McCulloch of Sylmar, California and a sister-in-law, Marge Willis of Pierpont, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Bill Willis and sister, Nancy Martin of Linesville.

As per April’s request, no services will be held and burial will be in Linesville Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice or Horse Plus Humane Society, 600 Charles McClearan Road, Hohenwald, TN  38462.
