Barbara Joan (Bridge) Ducote
October 30, 1946 — January 9, 2015
Barbara Joan Bridge Ducote, 68, of North Las Vegas, Nevada, formerly of Linesville, passed away on, Friday, January 9, 2015, at University Medical Center in Las Vegas. She moved to Las Vegas in 1996 and lived for the last 18 years.
Born October 30, 1946, in Meadville, she was the daughter of Charles Frances and Ethel Lillian Hitchings Bridge.
She was a 1964 graduate of Linesville High School. Barbara was a registered nurse and worked as a charge nurse in the Oncology Department at University Medical Center in Las Vegas. She loved being a nurse and helping people. She was an active member of the Oncology Nurses Society.
Barbara loved spending time with family and friends. She cherished her grandchildren and enjoyed being a part of their lives. She enjoyed traveling on vacations to Florida in the winter and trips with her nursing sisterhood. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, sewing, bingo, finding new restaurants, and trying to keep up with the latest electronics.
Survivors include a daughter, Leslie Vaught and her husband, Dean, their children, Isaac and Aaron Vaught, of Las Vegas; a son, C. David Ducote of Hermosillo, Mexico and his fiancé, Gretel Paz Gamez; David’s step-daughter, Oyuky and his son, Leonardo; a brother, Richard Bridge Sr. and his wife, Marlene, of Linesville; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be Thursday from noon to 2 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
A funeral service will be held following the calling hours at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Joel Weck of the Linesville First Baptist Church officiating.
Private burial will be in Southside Cemetery in Shermansville, Pennsylvania.
Following the service, a life celebration will be held at Rebecca's Family Restaurant in Linesville.
The family suggests memorial contributions may be made in Barbara’s name to the American Cancer Society or the Make a Wish Foundation.
