Beatrice H. Ballard, 98, of Linesville passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2019, at her residence.
Born June 24, 1921, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Earl and Mable Grace (Buck) Hardisty.
She worked for Toteline in Linesville for over 40 years.
Beatrice was a session elder at the Linesville Presbyterian Church and was very active at the church. She was a member of the Lakeland Senior Center in Linesville.
She enjoyed reading, cooking, crosswords, puzzles and gardening. After retirement she enjoyed babysitting children.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Ballard and family friend, Clark Hill, of Linesville and Ardyth Cook of Southport, North Carolina; three grandchildren, David Mershon and his wife, Allie, of Homestead, Florida, Tammy Costello and her husband, Joseph, of Jacksonville, Florida and Rachel Ham and her husband, Linwood, of Falls Church, Virginia; eight great-grandchildren, Courtney Weber and her husband, Mark, Matthew Costello, Wesley Mershon and his fiancé, Ashley, Taylor Mershon, Rayne Mershon, and Ellie, Katie and A.J. Ham; a great-great-granddaughter, Delaney Rae Weber; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Richard and William Hardisty, and a sister, Velma Rose Kuehn.
Calling hours will be on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home 6028 U.S. Hwy 6, Linesville. Additional calling will be on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
A funeral will be held 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Rachel Johns of the Linesville Presbyterian Church officiating.
Burial will be in Linesville Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the The Alzheimer’s Association.
