Bonita M. (Hovis) Farley

Bonita M. Farley, 85, of Linesville, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at her residence.

Born November 21, 1938, in Linesville, she was the daughter of Daniel and Mary (Caldwell) Hovis.  She married John H. Farley on August 23, 1956; he preceded her in death on December 22, 2014.

Bonnie was a graduate of Linesville High School.  She attended Edinboro University and Thiel College and earned her Bachelors of Science in Nursing and later earned her Master’s degree.  Bonnie truly enjoyed her education and learning.  For many years, she worked as an emergency room nurse at the Meadville Medical Center.

Bonnie was a member of the Linesville First Baptist Church.  She enjoyed gardening, watching and feeding the birds and cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed selling sweet corn and produce from her family farm stand and especially liked talking with those who stopped.

Survivors include four children, Carol Browning of Linesville, Michael Farley and his wife, Debra, of Linesville, Sandy Wilson and her husband, Chris, of Linesville, and Kathy Wetherell and her husband, Russ, of Conneautville; seven grandchildren, Jon, Colt, Sara, Bill, Leeann, Jenna and Doug; thirteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Dr. D. William Hovis and his wife, Karen, of Oxford, Pennsylvania; a sister-in-law, Evelyn McCartney of Kinsman, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Jason Farley; son-in-law, Raymond Browning; brother, Lewis; and two sisters, June and Suzanne.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.

A funeral service will follow the calling hours at 5 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Chris McLaughlin of the Linesville First Baptist Church officiating.
