Bonnie Lou (Dawson) Schaefer

Bonnie Lou Schaefer, 62, of Espyville, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021, at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.

Born November 14, 1958, in Brookville, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Wilbert and Geraldine (Barnett) Dawson.  She married Joseph V. Schaefer Sr. on January 6, 1979, in Cleveland, Ohio.

She was a graduate of Lincoln-West High School in Cleveland.  Bonnie was proud to be a military spouse.  She retired from the Cleveland VA Medical Center and worked in the payroll and budget departments.

Bonnie was a member of the Ladies Quilting Group at the Lakeland Senior Center in Linesville.  She enjoyed quilting, traveling, camping, being with family, and cooking.

Survivors include her loving husband of 42 years, Joseph V. Schaefer Sr.; her mother, Geraldine Dawson; two sons, Joseph (Jessi) V. Schaefer Jr. and Brad (Kelly) Schaefer; four grandchildren, Allissa, Joseph III (JT), Caleb and Leila; and three siblings, Wilbert (Deb) Dawson III, Linda Lemke and John (Kathy) Dawson.

She was preceded in death by her father, a sister, Peggy Dawson, and a brother, Randy Dawson.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville with Rev. Jim Tubbs officiating.  The family will receive friends before the service from 2 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
