Carl (Carly) William Martin, 71, of Linesville, passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at his residence, after a lengthy courageous battle with emphysema.

Born April 16, 1945, in Meadville, he was the son of Carl R. and Rosemary Mackay Martin.  He married Nancy M. Lowe on September 2, 1983.

He had attended Linesville High School.  He began working for the PA Fish Commission in Linesville on October 15, 1964 and retired on April 16, 2000 after 36 years of service.  He truly loved working with the crew at the hatchery.

Carly loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman.  He enjoyed boating and loved Muskie fishing.  He had fond memories of trapping with Shryl Hood in Mississippi and elk hunting in Colorado with Howard Clayton.  He shared many hunting and trapping memories with Dave Zolnai and Buck Hawthorne.  Carly was an animal lover and loved his dog, Sky, and his cat, Camp.

Survivors include his loving wife of 33 years, Nancy Martin; his father, Carl R. Martin and his wife, Mary, of Linesville; his daughter Melissa Warrington from Reisterstown, Maryland, three sons, Steve Martin and his wife, Cindy, from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Tim Martin and wife, Sonya, from Espyville and Dean Martin from Conneaut Lake; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; a brother, David Martin of Linesville.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosemary Martin; a brother, Clifford Martin; and a sister, Beverly Martin.

Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U. S. Highway 6, Linesville.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Brenda Loucks officiating.

Burial will be in Linesville Cemetery.
