Carol R. Huffman, 97, passed away in Avon Park, Florida on May 24, 2023.  Carol was born on October 31, 1925 to Raymond and Ethel (Moore) Knierman of Linesville. Carol graduated from Linesville High School in 1943 and attended Grove City College.  She married Wesley Earl Huffman on June 22, 1946 at her parent’s home in Linesville.  They were married for 56 years.  Wesley preceded her death in August of 2002.

Carol and a neighbor friend were the first to have a bait shop selling nightcrawlers in Linesville for the fisherman coming to newly made Pymatuning Lake.  She worked for the Postal Service delivering mail, she worked for Talon, Inc., and she was behind the counter at the Park Golf Course in Conneaut Lake for many years.

She was often the life of the party and entertained groups of friends doing her impersonation of Phyllis Diller, her favorite comedienne, after she and her husband retired and spent many years in Florida.  Throughout her years, she enjoyed tennis, bowling, dancing, card games and singing karaoke.  She had an optimistic outlook and enjoyed a long life and stayed strong of mind even when her body became weak in recent times.  After, her husband’s death she became a year round resident of Sebring, Florida.

She is survived by her three children; son Robert and wife Karyn Huffman of Sebring, Florida, daughter Karen and husband David Boyett of Lithia, Florida, and daughter Mary and husband Denny Headley of Linesville.  She is also survived by two grandsons, Stephen and wife Courtney Headley of Edinboro and Ross Headley of Linesville, and one step-granddaughter, Jennifer and husband Dan McMillen of Norman, Oklahoma.  She had five great grandchildren, Jazmine Shoats, Ella and Harper, and Ashton and Liam whom she dearly loved.  She has many nieces and nephews.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Clark, two nephews and a step-granddaughter.

Carol leaves behind many friends both in Sebring, Florida and Linesville, Pennsylvania.
