Charles E. Rudler

Charles “Chuck” E. Rudler passed away on August 27, 2024 at Edinboro Manor in Edinboro.  Chuck was born March 28, 1925 in Linesville, to John and Mildred (French) Rudler.

Chuck served in the United States Army during World War II with the 83rd Infantry Division. They fought their way across France and Chuck was wounded in the summer of 1944. After fighting through the Hurtgen Forest in western Germany, he was captured and held as a P.O.W. by the German army for nearly 6 months. Chuck was liberated by the Soviets in late April of 1945 and was later discharged in 1945 after the war. He operated a farm in Conneautville with his father and also worked for Union Carbide, retiring from there.

Chuck is preceded in death by his wife Donna Mae Rudler in 2018, a sister and a brother. Chuck is survived by his and Donna-Mae's three daughters; Bonnie B. Dearborn, Cindy (Jim) Artman and Linda (Tom) Moore. In addition to his children, Chuck has 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren and a sister, Janet Guiney.

A special thank you is extended to three wonderful ladies, Betty Evanchec, Connie Fletcher, and Bonnie Fate, who selflessly sat with and lovingly cared for Chuck many hours and days after Donna-Mae's passing and the years that followed.

Calling hours will be Saturday August 31 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.

A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Terry Smith officiating.  Full military honors will follow the service.

Interment will be private at Penn Line Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans at www.dav.org or the Linesville First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 387, Linesville, Pa 16424.
