Charles Robert (Bob) Himes, 76, of Espyville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at UPMC Jameson in New Castle.
Born October 22, 1944, in Morgantown, West Virginia, he was the son of Charles Robert Sr. and Hazel Belle (Thomas) Himes. He married Louise Mogyoros on December 20, 1964 in Morgantown.
Bob owned and operated Himes Well Drilling and Excavating in the Pymatuning Area for over 50 years. He was a member of the North Shenango Presbyterian Church. Bob built his own sawmill and loved woodworking. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Bob loved nature, wildlife and just spending time outdoors in the woods. Above all else, Bob cherished the family he created with Louise. His kids and grandkids were his pride and joy, and he lived his life for them.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Louise Himes; two sons, Michael Himes and his wife, Melanie, and Timothy Himes both of Espyville; five grandchildren, Doug Himes, Brittany (Himes) Holbrook and her husband, Dalton, Ryan Himes, Kurt Himes and Rebecca Himes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Stephen Himes and a sister, Mary Alice McDilda.
A celebration of Bob’s life will be held 3 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021, at his residence beside his pond, one of his favorite places, 2027 Crom Rd, Espyville with Pastor David Cox officiating.
Burial will be private at Espyville Cemetery.
If attending, please wear a mask. Strict 6 feet COVID distancing from the immediate family will be enforced.
The family requests no flowers. However, monetary contributions may be made directly to Louise Himes.
Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
