The town of Linesville lost an invaluable member of the community, Charlotte Ann Kimple (Charlie), at age 83. She passed away on Monday, April 25, 2016, at Rolling Fields in Conneautville, where she had resided for the past four years.

Born July 30, 1932, in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Andrew and Alberta Androlewicz O’Grodnick.  She married Herman Kimple on July 17, 1972; he preceded her in death on October 26, 1987.

Charlotte’s passion for cooking led to her owning and operating the beautifully decorated Driftwood Restaurant in Linesville for 42 years where she touched many lives by helping those in need and providing meals to those less fortunate.

She was instrumental in the formation of the Ducks Unlimited weekend, the sidewalk sales and the Old Fashion Days in the past.  Most recently Charlie spearheaded the campaign to keep the tradition of feeding bread to the fish at the Spillway.  In her spare time, Charlie enjoyed gardening, flowers and antiquing.

Survivors include three children, Michael Stachnik and his wife, Lisa, Diane Davis and her husband, George, and Steven Pilarcik all of Linesville; four grandchildren, Megan Pilarcik, Seth Pilarcik and his wife, Alyssa, Stephanie Stachnik and her friend, Alex Robertson, and Michael Stachnik; two great-grandsons, Calvin and Oliver; a brother, Leon O’Grodnick of Cleveland; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister, Grace Nipple.

Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Philip Roman Catholic Church, 401 S. Mercer St., Linesville, with Father Jeffrey Lucas as celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Philip Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine St., Meadville, Pa 16335.

The family would like to thank Rolling Fields, especially the staff on Cherry Street, for the kindness and care they provided for Charlotte and for treating her like family.
