Charlotte Virginia Zorn Frese, 83, of Conneaut Lake, and most recently of Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community in Meadville, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014, at the Meadville Medical Center.

Born July 27, 1930, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Frank W. and Elmira M. Digby Thompson.  She married Gerald C. Zorn Sr. in 1954 and he preceded her in death on October 2, 1973.  She then married Clanton Frese on October 11, 1980.  He also preceded her in death on October 20, 2006.

She was a 1948 graduate of Carrick High School in Pittsburgh.  Charlotte was a loving and devoted homemaker.  In her younger years, she had worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield for several years.  She had also worked for Conneaut Lake Park.

Charlotte was a long time member of the Linesville T.O.P.S.  She was a member of the Harmonsburg United Methodist Church and was very active in the Women’s Group at the church.

She was a very warm and kind hearted person who loved everyone.  Charlotte was always there to help and enjoyed socializing with everyone.  Her greatest joy in life came from spending time with her grandchildren and watching them grow up.

Survivors include a daughter, Lorraine C. DeMarco and her husband, Dr. Anthony, of Erie; a son, Gerald C. Zorn Jr. of Conneaut Lake and his special friend, Diane Raines; her grandsons, Anthony M. and Christopher D. DeMarco both of Erie; her granddaughters, Karissa A. and Angela L. Zorn both of Meadville; a stepson, Edward Frese and his wife, Michelle, of Richmond, Virginia; a brother, Jay Thompson and his wife, Betty; her little friend, Benjamin E. Raines; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, a sister, Lorraine Thompson, and a grandson, Mark Frese.

Calling hours will be Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.

A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Dave Brumagin , of Trinity United Methodist Church and Meadville Medical Center Pastoral Care, officiating.

Burial will be private in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Meadville.
