Chase Bortles, 31, of Linesville, unexpectedly passed away Friday, October 13, 2023, due to an accident from a motorcycle and deer crash.
Born August 2, 1992, in Greenville, Pa, he was the only son of James and Terri (Schulz) Bortles.
He was a graduate of Linesville-Conneaut-Summit High School and was raised in the Roman Catholic faith.
Chase worked in agriculture field as an agronomy driver and field applicator and more recently as a tree service groundsman and a member of IBEW Local 1249 union.
He liked working on Ford Trucks and snowboarding. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed making maple syrup with his dad and going with him to antique tractor pulls. He enjoyed blue crabbing in Poquetanuck Cove in Connecticut. Chase had a quick wit and came out with some doozies. His friends were extremely important to him.
Survivors include his parents; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Carlyle and Pauline (Kuban) Bortles; maternal grandparents, Theodore and Teresa (Teague) Schulz; and an uncle, Theodore Schulz Jr.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, October 19 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Hwy 6, Linesville. A funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. on Thursday with Deacon Marty Aubel officiating.
