Constance (Connie) J. Tighe

Constance (Connie) J. Tighe, 100, of Linesville, passed away surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at St. Paul’s in Greenville.

Born August 11, 1921, in Toledo, Ohio, she was the daughter of Carl and Grace (Weber) Lindecker.  She married Thomas Tighe on June 27, 1946 at St. Joseph Church in Irish Hills, Michigan.  He preceded her in death on January 8, 1991.

She graduated from St. Agnes School in 1935 and Ursuline Academy High School in 1939.  Connie then graduated from Mary Manse College in 1943.

She worked at the Toledo Art Museum for a brief time and various other businesses.  She moved from Toledo to Linesville in 1956.

Connie was a member of St. Philip Church since 1956.  She was one of the original Quilter’s at the church.  She was former president of the Altar and Rosary Society and a past member of the Parish Council.  Connie enjoyed woodworking, sewing, puzzles and traveling.  Her pride and joy were her family.

Survivors include 11 children, Maureen (Thomas) Socha of Osceola, Pennsylvania, Kathleen (G. Terrence) Coriden of Columbus, Indiana, Colleen (Thomas) Humphrey of Coldwater, Michigan, John (Carol) Tighe of Perrysburg, Ohio, Timothy (Barbara) Tighe of Toledo, Ohio, Eileen (Michael) DiMattio of Erie, Noreen (Thomas) Mullen of Linesville.  Terence (Linda) Tighe of Waterville, Ohio, Matthew (Laura) Tighe of Edinboro, Patrick Tighe of Linesville, Daniel (Robin) Tighe of Linesville; 22 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter, Shannon; a granddaughter; Elisha; and two sisters, Ruth and Janet Lindecker.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 7 p.m.  at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.  A rosary service will be held at 6:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Monday at St. Philip Roman Catholic Church, 401 S. Mercer St., Linesville with Father Chris Hamlett as celebrant.

Burial will be private in St. Philip Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Senior Living Community, 339 E. Jamestown Rd., Greenville, Pa 16125.
