Born March 13, 1939, in Meadville, he was the son of Park and Edna Smith Reynolds.   He married Carol A. Tovey on February 26, 1959 in Winston-Salem, NC.

David was a 1957 graduate of Linesville High School.  As a youth he worked at the family sawmill with his Dad and brothers.  He started his career working as an operator for the Pennsylvania Department of Highways and ended his career working at Rockwell International in Ashtabula where he retired in 1988.  He attended Linesville United Methodist Church.

David was a very practical man who enjoyed fixing small engines, welding and building trailers, as well as being outdoors cutting wood, maintaining his lawn, hunting, and playing with his German Shepherds.  He was a master at repurposing things before recycling was popular. He cherished his children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them and teaching them useful life skills.

Survivors include his loving wife, Carol, of 56 years; five children, Craig Reynolds and wife, Diane, of Conneaut Lake, Cindy Carlson and husband, Terry, of Linesville, JoAnn Leffingwell of Fellsmere, FL, Amber Leffingwell of St. Augustine, FL, and John Leffingwell of Linesville; five grandchildren, Tyler Reynolds and wife, Brittani, of Meadville, Brad Reynolds and girlfriend Brooke Warner of Meadville, Mallory Reynolds of Conneaut Lake, Daniel Carlson, and Michael Carlson of Linesville; two brothers, Richard R. Reynolds of New York and Kenneth A. Reynolds and wife, Darlene, of Linesville; his very special aunt Twyla Grieser, who was able to join him at Rolling Fields during his last days there; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be Monday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.

A funeral service will follow the calling hours at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Dennis E. Lawton, of the Linesville United Methodist Church officiating.
