Denise (Grossic) Gray, 62, of Espyville, formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2015, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born January 27, 1953, in Homestead, she was the daughter of Joseph Michael and Edna Marie Ashcroft Grossic. She married Donald Gray on June 20, 1981 at the Resurrection Church in West Mifflin. He preceded her in death on February 24, 2003.
Denise was a member of St. Philip Roman Catholic Church in Linesville.
For over twenty years, she worked for North Shenango Township serving in the positions of Secretary/Treasurer , and building permit officer . For many years the treasurer of North ShenangoVolunteer Fire Department and Bingo Committee. Denise was a charter member and Secretary of the North Shenango Crime Watch for many years. She was secretary/treasurer of the North Shenango Community Center and the North Shenango Recreation Board . Denise was the elected Democratic Committee women for North Shenango Township. A member of the Crawford County Democratic Committee and Executive Board where she served in the positions of Treasurer and Secretary. Denise served in the position as Treasurer of the Crawford County Democratic Women’s Federation. Denise received the Democratic Women of the year awarded for her years of service to the organization.
Denise was an avid Farmville player. She will be greatly missed by her family and friend s and the residents of North Shenango Township.
Survivors include a daughter, who was the love of her life, Sherry Stype of West Mifflin; eight brothers and sisters, Joey Grossic of Espyville, Edna Grossic of WestMifflin, David Grossic of West Mifflin, Jay Grossic of West Mifflin, VickiMooney and her husband, John, of Pittsburgh, Pam Post and her husband, Alan, ofPittsburgh, Arlene Broadfoot and her husband, Thomas of Andover, and Charlene Grossic of West Mifflin; nine nieces and nephews, Bob and his wife, Angela, Erin, Heather, Shawn, April and her husband, Sean, Rachel and her husband, Nate, Chris, Jared and Anna; and five great nieces and nephews, Gabe, Wyatt, Eli, Serenity and Braydon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald Gray and a brother, Kevin Grossic.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Philip Roman Catholic Church, 401 S. Mercer St., Linesville, with Father Chris Hamlett as celebrant.
