Donald William Jenkins, 56, of Meadville, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014, at his residence after a one year courageous battle with cancer.
Born May 6, 1958, in Meadville, he was the son of Marshall and Dorothy Berry Jenkins. He married Nancy Lewis on September 2, 1995 in Buffalo, New York.
He had attended Linesville High School and graduated from Albion High School. Don worked as a roofer in construction. He served our country in the United States Army.
He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Conneaut Lake and where he served as an usher. He had volunteered at the Meadville Rehabilitation Center in Meadville. Don enjoyed golfing, doing crossword puzzles and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He loved his dog Daisy May.
Survivors include his loving wife of 18 years, Nancy Jenkins; his foster mother, Katie Hamilton of Fairview; his foster brothers, Richard (Bubba) Davis and Charles (Chip) Davis; his mother, Dorothy Jenkins of Linesville a step-son, Michael Maley of Conneautville and his children, Amber, Leah and Michael Anthony Maley Jr. ; a step-daughter, Rachael Calvert and her husband, Mark, of Cochranton and their children, Elizabeth Marie, Robert Allan and Jarod Ryan Calvert and a great-grandson, Braiden Mark Gilligan; two sisters, Marsha Moyer of Linesville and Marlene Yulenti of Meadville; four brothers, Ronald Jenkins of Meadville, James Jenkins of Meadville, Vincent Jenkins of Linesville and Darryl Jenkins of Meadville; several aunts and uncles; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marshall Jenkins, an aunt Hazel and an uncle Jerry.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday August 30 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 240 North 3 rd St., Conneaut Lake with Rev. Jay Sterling, pastor of the church, officiating.
Private burial will be in Linesville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
