Donna Ilene (Taft) Johns

Donna I. (Taft) Johns, 76, of Pittsburgh, PA died Saturday, March 28, 2020, at Southwestern Veterans Center in Pittsburgh, where she had been a resident since November 2019.
She was born May 16, 1943, in Penn Line, daughter of Clair and Florence (Wheeler) Taft. She graduated from Linesville High School in 1961.
She served in the United States Air Force as an Administration Specialist on the flight line from 1961 until she was honorably discharged in 1963. She had retired from Andover Industries in 2005. Donna loved playing bingo, was an avid reader, and enjoyed making bead ornaments, walking, and gardening.
She was a member of the Penn Line Grange. She became a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Aletha Chapter #82 on July 18, 1974 in Rock Cave, WV. She served as Worthy Matron 1979-80 and served as a Grand Representative to Pennsylvania in WV.
She is survived by her children, Cindy Brown of Hampton, VA; Cecilia Verdoliva and her husband, Ken, of Pittsburgh, PA and Matthew Johns of Houston, PA. Three grandchildren Mitchell Brown, Rachel Brown and Anthony Verdoliva.  Three sisters, Mary Boban and her husband, Arnold, of Springboro, Dorothy Parish and her husband, Alen, of Hemet, CA, Bea Cunningham of Columbus, OH,; one brother, Frank Taft and his wife, Barbara, of Geneva, OH; one brother-in-law, Richard Keppler of Meadville; many nieces and nephews;  great-nieces and -nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, Carl, Norman, Gerald, James and Richard Taft; and  three sisters, Sara O’Neil, Shirley Keppler and Ruth Kleve.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 24 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.  A memorial service will be on Saturday, July 25 at 11 a.m.  Interment will follow with full military honors at Penn Line Cemetery.
