Douglas Allan Sherretts, 51, of Linesville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.

He was born March 11, 1966 in Meadville.  Doug married Lisa M. Buzzard on April 13, 1985, at the First Baptist Church in Linesville.  He was of the Christian faith.

Doug was a graduate of Linesville High School in 1984.   He then served our country in the United States Navy from 1984 until honorable discharged in 1989.   He was an exemplary sailor and received many awards during his service.  One example of his dedication during his service was when he was dropped from a helicopter to save a sinking barge.

He worked as a construction foreman for Ayrshire Inc. of Chardon, Ohio for 27 years.  He was well loved and respected by his co-workers.

Doug was a past member of the Pymatuning Sportsman’s Club in Linesville and the American Legion Post 462 in Linesville.

He loved his toys such as his truck, loader and tractors. Doug was and excellent craftsman and was called “MacGyver” for his ability to fix anything.  He was considered the “Go to Man” for all!  If you needed help he was there, although it was on his schedule.

Doug loved camping with family and friends and was the camp cook.  He enjoyed gardening, canning and was an avid hunter.

He was a hard worker and loved helping his family and friends.  He was a loving and caring husband father and friend to all and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of 32 years, Lisa M. Sherretts; a son, Matthew Sherretts; a daughter, Nicole Sherretts; two granddaughters, Rozalyn Faye Harper-Sherretts and Lennaye Elisa Harper-Sherretts; his parents, Carl and Laura Sherretts of Linesville; his grandmother, Shirley Schambach of Meadville; a sister, Patricia Davis and her husband, Kelly, of Linesville; a brother, Guy Sherretts and his wife, Kay, of Linesville; a step-brother, Tyrone Johnson; and a step-sister, Sandi Wise and her husband, Mike, of Espyville; his father-in-law, Michael Buzzard and his wife, Sally of Linesville; two sister-in-law’s Lori and Deanna Buzzard both of Linesville; two nephews, Chad Davis of Linesville and Cory Davis and his wife, Julie, of Edinboro.

He was preceded in death by a son, Austin James Sherretts.

Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Hwy 6, Linesville.  Additional calling will be on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Joel Weck of the Linesville First Baptist Church officiating.

Burial with full military honors will be in Linesville Cemetery.
