Elanda Mae (Brown) Winkle

Elanda Mae Winkle, 84, of Hartstown, passed away, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, July 6, 2014, at her daughter, Elyce Sefert’s home in Hartstown.

Born April 19, 1930 in, Transfer, she was the daughter of James and Lora Rose Dungan Brown.  She married Robert D. Winkle Sr. on September 5, 1946 in Hartstown.

She attended Fallowfield High School.  Elanda had worked for 28 years at Greenville Hospital.

She was a member of the Atlantic Community Church and was very active in church activities.  Elanda and her husband Bob volunteered for the Samaritans for many years.  She cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Robert D. Winkle Sr.; four children, James N. Winkle and his wife, Paula, of Adamsville, Elyce J. Sefert of Hartstown, Robert David Winkle Jr. and his wife, Jill, of Jacksonville, Florida, and Gordon Ray Winkle of Hartstown; five grandchildren, Bryan Sefert of Linesville, Randy Sefert and his wife, Becky, of Atlantic, Ben Winkle and his wife, Gina, of Greenville, Valerie Nottingham and her husband, Jeremy, of Atlantic, and Shannon McClimans and her husband, Jimmy, of Hartstown; four step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson;  a brother, Orville Brown and his wife, Betty, of Pahrump, Nevada; and a sister, Bertha Calvin of Conneaut Lake.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.

A funeral service will be held 4 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. William Rogers, Pastor of the High Street Community Church in Conneaut Lake officiating.

Private burial will be in Rocky Glen Cemetery in Adamsville.
