Glen Arthur Smith, 74, of Linesville, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017, at the Meadville Medical Center.

Born February 4, 1943, in Hamilton, Ontario in Canada, he was the son of Arthur and Theda Sievenpiper Smith.

He served our country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from May 13, 1968 until he was honorably discharged on November 30, 1970.

Glen was a self-employed electrical engineer.

He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America and the Disabled American Veterans.

Glen was also a member of the Linesville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7842 and the Linesville American Legion Post 462.  He was extremely active with Any Soldier which sends packages to the troops overseas.

Survivors include a daughter, Shawn Inglis of Hamilton, Ontario; two brothers, Eric Smith and his wife, Sharon, of Victoria Harbour, Ontario and Steve Hickmore and his wife, Vicky, of Nova Scotia; a sister, Laurie Floreck of Grimsby, Ontario; two grandchildren, Daniel and Tyler Inglis; also survived by many nieces and nephews that include locally a nephew, Paul Loga of Linesville and a niece, Nicole Ordos and her husband, Jason, of Linesville and their extended families.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Arlene Wheeler.

Calling hours will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U. S. Highway 6, Linesville.  Additional calling hours will be Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Jonathan D. Wagner of the Calvary Baptist Church, Conneautville, officiating.  The Linesville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7842 will conduct a veteran service at 2 p.m. followed by the funeral service.

Burial with full military honors will be provided by the Huidekoper Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006 will be in Linesville Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
