Helen Irene Watson, 85, formerly of Linesville, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2014, at Hospice of the Valley Coronado Home in Phoenix, Arizona.

Born July 6, 1928, in Andover, Ohio, she was the daughter of Raymond and Myrna Seager Linn.  She married John J. (Jack) Watson on May 20, 1950; he preceded her in death on November 16, 2001.

Helen was raised in Espyville and graduated from North Shenango High School in 1946.  She then attended Erie Business School.  She was employed by Talon in Meadville.

Jack and Helen spent the winter months in Florida beginning in 1986.  Helen made Sebring, Florida her permanent home in 2002.  She then relocated to Surprise, Arizona in 2009 and moved in with her daughter, Toni, in January 2013.

Helen loved reading, listening to country music and had enjoyed bowling for many years.  She also enjoyed doing alterations for many local residents.  She was a member of the former Linesville Diamond Chapter 120 Order of the Eastern Star and also the Red Hatters of Sebring, Florida.  In her later years, as her vision began to fail she really enjoyed listening to her books on tape.

Survivors include six children, Chris Salsberry and her husband, Ed, of Erie, Don Watson of Conway, Tom Watson of San Antonio, Texas, Dave Watson of Geneva, Ohio, Bob Watson of San Antonio, Texas, and Toni Watson of Goodyear, Arizona; her grandchildren, Randy Salsberry and his wife, Dawn, and their children Austin, Maddox and Mya; Brian Salsberry and son Jacob, and Brian’s girlfriend, Sandy Wright, and her daughter Natalie; Lori Gehr and her husband, Steve, and their children Abigail and Christian; Joni Watson and her boyfriend, Jack Fink, and their son Justin;  John Watson;  Jim Watson and his girlfriend, Taryn Stagl, and their daughter Daylee;  Robert Watson;  Amanda Blankenship and her husband Buddy and their children Kyle, Tyler, Ashlee and Amanda;  Jackie Watson; Alisa Alcala and her fiancé, Aaron, and their daughters Catience,  Elizabeth and  Elliyana; and Nicole McMeans; two sister-in-laws, Faith Watson of Linesville and Helen Lamont of Harmonsburg; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister, Shirley McMann; three sister-in-laws; six brother-in-laws; and four nephews.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Dennis E. Lawton, of the Linesville and Harmonsburg United Methodist Churches officiating.

Burial will be private in Linesville Cemetery.
