Irene M. (Soos) Majcher

Irene M. Majcher, 92, of Jamestown, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2015, at St. Paul’s Home in Greenville where she had resided the past four years.

Born October 28, 1922, in Cleveland, she was the daughter of Steve and Roza Racz Soos.  She married Leonard (Bud) Majcher on September 5, 1942.  He preceded her in death on November 15, 1984.

She was a graduate of John Hay High School in Cleveland.  For 27 years, she worked at Cleveland Graphite Bronze as a machinist and retired in 1975.

Irene was a faithful member of St. Philip Roman Catholic Church in Linesville and belonged to the Quilters Club there.

She was an avid Bingo and card player.  In her spare time, she enjoyed golfing, bowling, softball, swimming and fishing.  Irene loved watching the Cleveland Indians and Browns anytime she could.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Blake and her husband, Robert, of Jamestown; a son, James Majcher and his wife, Sharon, of Jamestown; five, grandchildren, Robert Blake Jr. and his wife, Dianna, Joanne York and her husband, Matthew, Judi Peruski and her husband, Brian, Seth Majcher and Marissa Majcher; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Ethel Sluzewski of Meadville; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and seven siblings, Mary, Rose, Joe, Helen, Steve, Ann and Frank.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.  A rosary service will be conducted at 7 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Philip Roman Catholic Church, 401 S. Mercer St., Linesville, with Father Chris Hamlett as celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Philip Cemetery.
