Isaac (Butch) G. Cochenour

Isaac (Butch) G. Cochenour, 65, of Tarrs, Pennsylvania, passed away after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at his sister’s residence in Linesville.

Born May 29, 1954, in Greensburg, he was the son of the late Isaac E. and Mary Catherine (Shirey) Cochenour.

Butch was a graduate of Southmoreland High School in 1973, also graduated as a machinist from Westmoreland Career and Technology Center.

He worked for L. E. Smith Glass Company in Mt. Pleasant as a tank attendant, for many years. Butch then worked for Point Security Company as a security guard until his illness.

He was a member of the Youngwood Sportsmen’s Association.  He was involved with the East Huntingdon Township Volunteer Fire Department in Tarrs.

Butch was an amazing painter.  He did ceramic painting and wood burning that was extremely detailed.  In his spare time, he enjoyed go-kart racing, sail boating and target shooting.

He is survived by his sister, Cynthia Lisbon of Linesville; he had no children of his own but took on many that he loved as if they were his own including nieces and nephews, Vicki Beregi and her husband, Joseph, of New Stanton and Cody Overly of Linesville; great-nieces and great-nephews, Derek Hustek and his wife, Katelyn, Katelyn Rendina and her husband, Mario, Jeff Hustek and his fiancé, Rowan, Kandice Gaines and her husband, Zach, and Zack, Alicia, Nikki;  great-great nieces and great-great nephews, Brynlee, Myles, Karter and Aria; Noah and his wife, Tiffany, Carla, and Chance; God-daughter, Melinda Welch; and many great friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his close companion, Mary Ellen Darrell; a brother-in-law, Jacob Lisbon; and a niece, Bobby Jo Heider.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, 981 State Route 31, Tarrs, Pennsylvania with Pastor Ralph Mostoller officiating.  Calling hours will be Friday at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m.

Burial will follow in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
