Jacob (Jake) Smith

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Jacob (Jake) S. Smith on Saturday, November 23, 2019.

Born December 30, 1999, in Greenville, he was the son of Scott and Jodie Smith.  He was 19 years old and a sophomore at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania.  Jake was a 2018 graduate of Conneaut Area Senior High in Linesville.  He was an avid outdoorsman and had a passion for hunting and fishing.  He loved spending time with his family and his buddies.  Jake was loved by all that knew him and was a friend to everyone.  He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving parents, Scott and Jodie Smith of Linesville; his sister, Lauren Smith and her fiancé, Brock Lojek, of Saegertown; paternal grandmother, Avis Smith and her husband, Wayne Chamberlain, of Linesville; maternal grandparents, Byron and Jo Ann Smith of Linesville; his many friends and girlfriend, Kierston Shrock; an uncle Steve Smith of Cranberry Township and his cousins, Sydni and Kendall Smith.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, David C. Smith.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Linesville First Baptist Church, 6114 U.S. Hwy 6, Linesville.  Additional calling will be on Wednesday from 11 to noon at the church.

A memorial service will be at noon on Wednesday at the Linesville First Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Tubbs, retired Methodist minister, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Jake’s name to the charity of the donor’s choice.
