John Bicko

John Bicko, 89, of Linesville, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Wesbury in Meadville, after an extended illness.

Born December 3, 1928, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late John P. and Julia Borses Bicko.  He married Shirley Heidelberg on September 7, 1958, at the First Baptist Church in Linesville.

John was a 1947 graduate of Linesville High School.   He served our country in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea for a year.

In his younger years, he owned a repair garage and Sinclair Gas Station in Linesville.  He also worked for various garages as a mechanic.  For over twenty years, he worked as a mechanic for PPG Industries in Meadville and retired in 1991.

John was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Crossingville.

He enjoyed antique cars and loved fixing things.  He was known as “Mr. Fix It”.  John loved his family and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Shirley Bicko; two sons, J. Charles (Chuck) Bicko of Linesville and David Paul Bicko and his wife, Sue, of Meadville; two grandsons, Ian Glenn Bicko of Mobile, Alabama and Isaac Marshall Bicko and his wife, Autumn, of Meadville; and many cousins.

Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 6:30 until 8:30 at SS. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, 25636 North Mosiertown Rd., Crossingville.  A Panahidka Service will be held following the calling at 8:30 p.m.

Additional calling will be held at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Orthodox Christian Funeral at 11a.m. with Rev. Father Daniel Mathewson as celebrant.

Burial with full military honors will be in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the SS. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, 25636 North Mosiertown Rd., Edinboro, Pa 16412.

Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
