Kenneth A. Reynolds

Kenneth A. Reynolds, 86, a lifelong resident of Linesville passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at his residence, surrounded by his family.

Born December 1, 1930, in Linesville, he was the son of Park and Edna Smith Reynolds.  He married Darlene Schmidt on May 19, 1984.

He worked as a teenager with his aunt Twyla and uncle Warren on their pine farm in Conneaut Lake.  Ken used horses logging for the family sawmill with his father and brother on Townline Road.  He served in the Armed Forces with the Army Corp of Engineer.  While stationed in Germany, an injury ended his military career. After his service, he was quite the marksman and enjoyed hunting.

During his long life his body or mind was never idle.  If he needed it he made it. His various jobs show where he used his skills.  His jobs included, Foust Construction, Reynolds Well Drilling, PA Department of Transportation Construction Division, Reynolds Excavating, a hobby sawmill he called, Thick and Thin Mill”, Linesville Boro, Viking Tool and Gage, Summers Construction, then finally back to what he loved a farm in the country.  He and his wife, Darlene, established a horse farm in 1984 and enjoyed showing horses.  Until age 80, he did equipment fabrication and repair at Wheeler Farms.  He was very proud and surprised when Farm Show Magazine published and idea he had.

For over 30 years, his annual vacation was spent showing horses at the Crawford County Fair, which was a family affair.

Survivors include his loving wife of 32 years, Darlene Reynolds; a daughter, Julie Reynolds Wheeler and her husband, Glenn, of Linesville; two stepdaughters, B.J. Amrhein and her fiancé, Mark Bingenheimer, of Linesville and Tina Stallings and her husband, Kevin, of Meadville; a granddaughter, Jaime Wheeler Shelatz and her husband, John;  a grandson, Tyler Wheeler and his wife, Chelsea; great grandsons, Brody and Jase Shelatz; a mother-in-law, Joy Schmidt; a sister-in-law, Carol Reynolds; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a nephew, Alan Reynolds; a great granddaughter, Myla Elizabeth Shelatz; and two brothers, David L. Reynolds and Richard P. Reynolds.

As per his wishes, there will be no services.

The family suggests memorial contributions may be made in his name to Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine St., Meadville, Pa 16335.

Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U. S. Highway 6, Linesville.
