Leo Paul Whalen, 70, of Linesville passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at the Meadville Medical Center.
Born March 14, 1955, in Greenville, he was the son of the late Leo Thomas and N. Lee (Freeborn) Whalen.
Leo was a 1974 graduate of Linesville High School. He then graduated with a bachelor’s of science degree in art education from Edinboro University in 1979. He was heavily involved in alumni activity.
He was a clothing buyer for Pomeroy’s department store in Harrisburg. Leo was a store manager for multiple department stores including Younkers and in Des Moines, Iowa and also for Parisian and Macy’s in Atlanta, Georgia.
In his spare time, he enjoyed playing tennis.
Survivors include three siblings, Patricia Blackhurst of Linesville, Kathleen Mickle and her husband, Lawrence Jr., of Howard, Ohio, and Daniel Whalen of Linesville; four nieces and nephews, Kelly Proudfoot and her husband, John, Jamie Proudfoot, Douglas Mickle and Jessica Mickle; three great-nieces and nephews, Talon Proudfoot, Lilly Clickner and Myla Kunkle; and many aunts and uncles.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 28, 2025 at St. Philip Cemetery, Linesville.
Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
