Linda Kay Barabas, 79, of Espyville, went home to be with her Lord after a lengthy illness on June 2, 2022, at St. Paul’s in Greenville.
Born January 11, 1943, in Siler City, North Carolina, she was the daughter of Luther and Helen (Yankee) Curtis. She married Richard Barabas on June 3, 1961, at St. Philip Church in Linesville.
Linda was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a people person, loved meeting new people and enjoyed the various jobs throughout her life working with the public. Linda was known as the Avon Lady and sold Avon for over 10 years, making the presidents club every year.
She was a member of St. Philip Church and was a prayer warrior for her family. Linda loved football and was a vocal and proud Steelers fan. She was an avid bowler for many years. Linda was a 4-H mom and attended many meetings, shows and gaming horse competitions for her daughter. She loved all animals especially her cats and beagle dog, Gidget.
Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, Richard Barabas; her children, Tania Horton of Andover, Christopher (Joe) Barabas of Espyville and Karey Barabas of Espyville; a special nephew who she loved as a son, Christopher Ryan Barabas of Espyville; four grandchildren, Leah Horton, Katelyn Barabas, Johnathan Barabas and Ashlee Barabas; six siblings, Bonnie Galicia, Lee Curtis, Marcia Lindsey, Terry Curtis, Michael Curtis and Matthew Curtis all residing in Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Danny Horton; a granddaughter, Kayla Sue Barabas; and two sisters, Deenna Havran and Judy Witte.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28 at St. Philip Church with Father Chris Hamlett as celebrant followed by internment at Espyville Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Hwy 6, Linesville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the North Shenango Volunteer Fire Department, 2887 St. Hwy 285, Espyville, Pa 16424.
