Margaret Leora (Gregory) Shartle
October 24, 1924 — March 28, 2016
Margaret Leora Shartle, 91, of Linesville, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016, at her residence after a brief illness.
Born October 24, 1924, in Meadville, she was the daughter of Frank and Marie Morris Gregory. She married Harry E. Shartle on April 13, 1946 in Hartstown; he preceded her in death on April 17, 2002.
She was a loving and devoted homemaker. Margaret was a member of the Linesville United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening and her flowers. She loved her pet dogs.
Survivors include seven children, Mary Williams of Savanah, Georgia, Albert Shartle of Linesville, Georgieann Knott of Linesville, Harold Shartle and his wife, April, of Conneaut Lake, Karen Stewart and her husband, Joseph, of Conneautville, Josephine Dygert and her husband, David, of Linesville, Martha Sernik and her husband, Mickey, of Linesville; 16 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; a brother, Herbert Gregory and his wife, Karen, of Ukiah, California; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a granddaughter, Lisa Williams Carroll; two sisters, Ila McElroy and Amy Pelley; and three brothers, Floyd, Donald and Ora Gregory.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Margaret’s life will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Linesville American Legion Post 462, 110 West Erie St., Linesville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
