Marian Louise (Mcquiston) Hewitt

Marian Louise (McQuiston) Hewitt, 80, of Harmonsburg, passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2019, at Rolling Fields in Conneautville.

Born December 11, 1938, in Meadville, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Gwendolyn (Carrier) McQuiston.

She was a graduate of Linesville High School.  She was the Postmaster for the Harmonsburg and Conneaut Lake Post Offices.

Marian was of the Methodist faith.  She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.  She also belonged to the League of Postmasters. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards, reading and traveling.

Survivors include her son, Clayton Smith and his wife, Lori, of Harmonsburg; her daughter, Yvonne Balderson and her husband, Dan, of Redmond, Oregon; four grandchildren, Jacqueline Smith of Meadville, Captain Justin Smith and his wife, Kristin, of Saint Robert, Missouri, Jillian Balderson and Danielle Balderson both of Redmond, Oregon; a great-granddaughter, Madalyn Smith; a brother, Donald McQuiston and his wife, Barbara, of Meadville; and a sister, Judy Knepple of Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hewitt; a son Bret Wayne Smith; and a brother, Dale McQuiston.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
