Marilyn Lucille Bowers

Marilyn Lucille Bowers, 84, of Conneaut Lake, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, after a brief illness with cancer.

Born February 22, 1938, in Meadville, she was the daughter of Ira and Margaret (Cole) Bowers.

She was a 1956 graduate of Meadville High School.  Marilyn worked as a sales clerk for Dewey Office Supplies in Meadville and as a receptionist for United Way in Meadville.  Later in life, she worked as a home health aide for many families in the area and also as a cook for St. Brigid Church Rectory in Meadville.

Marilyn was a 50 year member of St. Agatha Church in Meadville and recently attended St. Philip Church in Linesville.

She was an avid reader, enjoyed good music and taking walks.  She loved collecting recipes and cherished spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter, Laurie (Jack) Hackworth of Linesville; two sons, Michael (Bernadette) Noel of Massillon, Ohio and Cody Noel of Saegertown; four grandchildren, Andrew Hackworth, Jacob Hackworth, Kayla Noel and Jessica Nunemaker; a sister, Dorothy Horner of New Bethlehem; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter-in-law, Tammy Noel; two sisters, Jean (Leon) Prystoloski and Patricia (Paul) Schwartz; two brothers, Donald Bowers and James O’Day; and a niece, Linda Shadley.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 19th from 9 until 11 a.m. at Conneautville Church of Christ, 1308 Main St., Conneautville.   A celebration of her life will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Rich Jones officiating.

Burial will be private at St. Philip Cemetery in Linesville.

The family suggests, memorial contributions may be made to Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital, 4401 Penn Ave., Pittsburgh, Pa 15224.

Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
