Mary Catherine (Shirey) Cochenour

Mary Catherine (Shirey) Cochenour, 77, of Linesville, formerly of Tarrs, passed away, Friday, October 3, 2014, at her residence.

Born April 21, 1937, in New Stanton, she was the daughter of George and Sara Harrold Shirey.  She married Isaac Cochenour on December 19, 1953.  He preceded her in death on April 19, 1987.

Mary retired as an LPN, after 32 years of service, from Westmoreland Manor in Greensburg in 1997.  After her retirement, she moved to Linesville.

She was a member of the East Huntingdon Ladies Auxiliary and was the first female school board director for the Southmoreland School District.  In her spare time, she enjoyed bowling and loved going shopping.  Mary also enjoyed going camping in their RV with family and friends.

Survivors include a son, Isaac (Butch) Cochenour of Tarrs; a daughter, Cynthia Lisbon and her husband, Jacob, of Linesville; a granddaughter, Vicki Beregi and her husband, Joseph, of New Stanton; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen; a granddaughter, Bobby Jo Heider; and an infant sister, Melinda.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church, 981 State Route 31, Tarrs, Pa, with Pastor Ralph Mostoller officiating.  Additional calling hours will be Monday at the church from 1 to 2 p.m. before the service.

Burial will be in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
