Mavelyn (Mav) Mcgrath

June 16, 1940 — December 15, 2018

Mavelyn (Mav) K. McGrath, 78, of Harmonsburg, passed away after several months of declining health, on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at her residence surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Born June 16, 1940, she was the daughter of Donald and Lucille Moffett.  She married Harry McGrath on October 29, 1977.

Mav was a 1958 graduate of Neshannock High School in New Castle.  She worked a combined 40 years in management for Molded Fiber Glass in Linesville and retired on March 28, 2009.

She was a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star Diamond Chapter 120.  She attended Linesville First Baptist Church.  Mav greatly enjoyed her trips with Harry to Florida.  She loved flowers and watching her hummingbirds.  Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her loving husband of 41 years, Harry McGrath; two daughters, Dianne Mattera of Harmonsburg and Susan Leach and her husband, Don, of Titusville; three sons, Norman (Ned) McGrath of Harmonsburg, Thomas McGrath and his wife, Lisa, of Linesville and Kevin McGrath and his wife, Sherry, of Linesville; 13 grandchildren, Daniel H. Jesse and his wife, Katherine, Teresa Jesse and her husband, Eric, Courtney Kearns, Bryan McGrath, Summer Blackford, Nicole McGrath and her husband, Matt, Thomas (Tucker) McGrath, Jesse McGrath, Luanne McGrath, Jon Smith and his wife, Lexus, Kodie Rearick and her husband, John, Jeremy McGrath and his wife, Geneva, and Joseph McGrath.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Loretta Moffett.

As per her wishes, cremation was chosen and services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Inurnment will be at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery in Harmonsburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Linesville First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 387 or to Hospice of Crawford County, 766 Liberty St., Meadville.

The family would like to thank hospice for their care and guidance during this time.
