Maxine Joan Headley, 91, of Linesville, passed away at her residence on Monday, May 3, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.
Born June 10, 1929, in Linesville, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Elsie (Loper) White. She married Dwayne Headley on January 26, 1948. He preceded her in death on February 25, 2013.
Maxine was a 1947 graduate of Linesville High School. She was a loving and devoted homemaker.
She was a member of the Linesville United Methodist Church. Maxine was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star at the former Linesville branch. She enjoyed golfing and playing cards. Maxine was the first women to have a “hole-in-one” at the Park Golf Course in 1995.
She is survived by and will be truly missed by her children, Vicki Gillette Berry of Conneaut Lake, Ronald D. Headley and his wife, Jane, of Linesville, James R. Headley and Susan Kull of Linesville, Marsha Sowry and her husband, Dick, of Kingsville, Ohio, Dennis Headley and his wife, Mary, of Linesville, David Headley and his wife, Ginny, of Mercer, Karen Beers and her husband, Rick, of Linesville, and Bryan Headley and his husband, Walter Munson, of Pittsburgh. She was a beloved grandmother that will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Dale Gillette and his wife, Jill, Michael Gillette and his wife, Stacy, Mathew Gillette, Christopher Headley and his wife, Lisa, Shaun Headley and his wife, Karrie, James Headley and his wife, Desiree, Justin Greco and her husband, Christopher, Tiffany Sowry, Ty Sowry, Stephen Headley and his wife, Courtney, Ross Headley, Beau Headley, Cassie Pencek and her husband, Jarrad, Tara Lang and her husband, Adam, and Julie Hochschild and her husband, Cory; 20 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends.
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Thomas Headley; a son-in-law, Charles Berry; a daughter-in-law, Carrie Headley; three brothers, Verne, Stanley and Robert White; and an infant sister, Barbara White.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U. S. Highway 6, Linesville.
A funeral service will follow on Thursday at 4 p.m. at funeral home with Rev. Jim Tubbs officiating.
Burial will be private in Linesville Cemetery.
