Michael Batcha, 84, of Linesville, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018, at UPMC Hamot in Erie.
Born November 10, 1933, in Ransom, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Semian Batcha. He married Joanne Stala on January 28, 1967; she preceded him in death on December 28, 1999.
He was a 1951 graduate of Taylor High School in Taylor, Pennsylvania.
Michael served our country in the United States Army and was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska.
For 33 years, he worked as a steel worker for J &L Steel and LTV Steel in Aliquippa and retired in 1983.
He was a member of St. Philip Church in Linesville.
Michael was a member of the Pymatuning Sportsman’s Club in Linesville, the Linesville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7842 and the Linesville American Legion Post 462. In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing.
Survivors include a sister, Beverly Jordan and her husband, Frank, of Dunmore; two sister-in-law’s, Angie Seltz of Aliquippa and Suzanne Batcha of Jessup; a niece, Joset Seltz of Aliquippa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three sisters, Lorraine Size, Kathryn Batcha and Mary Laska; and two brothers, John and Joseph Batcha.
Calling hours will be Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Philip Church, 401 S. Mercer St., Linesville with Father Chris Hamlett as Celebrant.
Burial with full military honors will be in St. Philip Cemetery.
