Ms. Nancy Holly McWhorter, age 91, was called home to our Lord on July 20th. Nancy was surrounded by her family as she passed peacefully knowing she has many loved ones waiting to welcome her into Gods beautiful kingdom.
Nancy was grew up in Nutley, N.J. Nancy had a wonderful gift for making people feel special, always willing to take time out to talk to friends and family. Nancy loved education, wanting to learn everything she could. Her professional career started at the Prudential, where she worked with her father. Then at Warner Lambert, she eventually moved and started a family in Andover N.J. She would work at Newton Hospital becoming Admin to the hospital President for many years.
Nancy was a devoted and loving mother to her children but all the neighborhood children. They would end up at her house swimming and staying over for dinner, which she loved! Nancy also enjoyed reading, crocheting, fishing, boating, traveling and camping. Nancy moved to Mercer P.A where she continued to enjoy an active life with her partner Wyman. They loved working in their gardens together.
Nancy advocated for volunteering. She was very dedicated to working with the American Cancer Society and helping with the annual fish fry’s at her church, Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church.
Nancy was preceded by her Father William Holly, Mother Elizabeth, brothers William and David and sister Elizabeth Holly Laverty. Nancy is survived by her daughter Beverly McWhorter Budz and husband Frank, sons Roger and Peter McWhorter, grandchildren Leah, Riley, David and Jeffrey and nieces and nephews. Nancy had great faith and she would often say: Do not rush before God, you can walk next to God but do not rush ahead of God.
Instead of flowers Nancy’s wishes would be to donate to the American cancer society.
The funeral service for Nancy H. McWhorter will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, at the Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville. Viewing time will be from 11:00 a.m. thru 1:00 p.m. before the service. Interment will follow at the Linesville Cemetery.
