Norman R. Fife Sr., 86, of Linesville, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2017, surrounded by his family at his daughter Sally’s home in Meadville.  After a short stay in the hospital he stayed the last week at Sally’s with his family.

Born February 23, 1930, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of John Francis II and Ruth Brown Fife.  He married Audrey Hetherington on November 22, 1950, at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Bethel Park.  Norm met Audrey in the eighth grade and knew right away that she was the girl he was going to marry.  They graduated together from Bethel Park High School in 1948.

He served our country as a staff sergeant in the Air National Guard in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

In 1965, Norm started working at Tri-State Machinery in Pittsburgh and retired from there in 1997.

He was an extremely active member of the Linesville Presbyterian Church.  He was a good and faithful servant.

Norm was an avid hunter.   He was a family man and cherished his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include five children, Sally Kresenske and her wife, Debra, of Meadville, Norman R. Fife Jr. “Butch” and his wife, Janice, of North Augusta, South Carolina, Daniel S. Fife and his wife, Colleen, of Elk City, Oklahoma, Cynthia L. Roncaglione and her husband, Ron, of Linesville, and Robert B. Fife of Sayre, Oklahoma; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; two sisters, Beverly Krieger of Pittsburgh and Barbara Schwartz and her husband, Albert, of Batesville, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife; his youngest son, Christopher M. Fife, who passed away on April 8, 2010; two brothers, Jack and Kenneth Fife; and a sister, Patricia Snyder.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.

The funeral service will follow the calling hours at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Rachel Johns of the Linesville Presbyterian Church officiating.

Burial with full military honors provided by the Huidekoper Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006 will be in Linesville Cemetery.
