Richard "Dick" Powell

Richard "Dick" Powell, 74, formerly of Conneaut Lake, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2020, at Rolling Fields Elder Care, Conneautville.

Dick was born August 30, 1945, in Punxsutawney, the son of the late Omer C. and Eva G. (Campbell) of Coolspring, PA.  He married his loving wife, Joan (Litwiler) Powell, December 29, 1982.

Dick was a 1964 graduate of Punxsutawney High School.  He worked for American Viscose/Avtex Fibers of Meadville for over 20 years, until the time of the Meadville plant closure.  He held various retail sales positions including Kmart and Smith's Pools & Spas of Meadville, among others while previously residing in Banner Elk, North Carolina.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, Nascar, Pittsburgh Steelers, playing cards, and sharing coffee and doughnuts with friends and family, to include an affinity for Tim Horton's.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joan (Litwiler) Powell, of Conneaut Lake; two sons, Ricky Powell of Conneautville and Kevin (Christy) Powell of Fredericksburg, Virginia; a daughter Michelle (Mark) Kircher of Guys Mills; two step-sons, Kenny (Lori) Walls of Conneaut Lake and Kevin Walls of Conneaut Lake; three sisters-in-law, Bertha Powell of Indiana, Peggy Mailliard of Cochranton and Linda Litwiler of Meadville, ten grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Duane Powell of Indiana; parental in-laws, Paul and Emma Litwiler of Conneaut Lake; and two brothers-in-law, Thomas Litwiler of Meadville and Frederick Mailliard of Cochranton.

A private celebration of life will be held at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home in Linesville on Tuesday, April 7th, to be officiated by the Rev. Lester Rowan.
