Robert E. McGrath, 73, of Conneautville, passed away, Saturday, March 8, 2014, at his residence, after a short courageous battle with cancer.
Born November 6, 1940, in Greenville, he was the son of Paul and Bernice Snow McGrath.  He married Evelyn K. Harris on August 21, 1959, in Linesville.
Bob was a 1959 graduate of Linesville-Conneaut-Summit High School.  He worked as a welder for Trinity Industries in Greenville until it closed.  Bob then worked at Meadville Medical Center as a security guard and retired from there.
He enjoyed hunting and loved woodworking.  Bob made furniture for the many craft shows he and Evelyn would attend.  He loved his two pet cats.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Evelyn McGrath; two brothers, Howard Phyllis and his wife, Donna, of Espyville and Harry McGrath and his wife, Mavelyn, of Harmonsburg; two sisters, Betty Garlick and her husband, Wayne, of Linesville and Rosalie Merchant of Linesville; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Krowell and her husband, Larry, of Benson, North Carolina;  a daughter-in-law, Jessie Wassom and her husband, Don, of Meadville; three grandchildren, Justin, Thomas and Cassie; two great-grandchildren, Jonathon and Sammie; and several loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Patti Buttice in 2001, and a son, Randy McGrath in 2007.
As per his request, cremation will take place.  A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the Living Hope Community Church, 1205 Main St., Conneautville with Pastor Eric Flint of the church officiating.  A celebration of his life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 464 Pine St., Meadville, Pa 16335 or the Living Hope Community Church, P.O. Box 322, Conneautville, Pa 16406.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.
