Roland H. (Ron) Morris, 74, of Meadville, Hayfield Township, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at his residence.

Born October 8, 1939, in Corry, he was the son of Ralph and Ruth McCray Morris.  He married Carole R. Cassatt on April 15, 1961.

He was a 1959 graduate from Corry High School.  Ron started working as a manager at Quality Market in Meadville.  He then worked for the Erie Lackawanna Railroad for many years followed by owning a Snap-On tool dealership.  For the past 25 years, he was a self-employed contractor for lawn care and snow removal.

Ron was a member of the Littles Corners United Methodist Church.  He was a 50 year member of Crawford Masonic Lodge 234 in Meadville.  He was also a member of the Zem Zem Shriners and a member of the Yesterday’s Sound Barbershop Chorus.

He enjoyed riding his Goldwing motorcycle with Carole all over the country.  Ron loved spending time with his family and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Carole R. Morris; a daughter, Deborah S. Armel and her husband, Jerry, of Saegertown; a son, Douglas S. Morris and his companion, Roxanne Bowers, of Cambridge Springs; four grandchildren, Susan Boyko, Katie Burnett, Tyler Morris and his wife, Jessica, and Emily Morris; four step-grandchildren, Brian, Bradley, Tori and Eddie; three great-grandchildren, Anna, Austin and Madison; a brother, Norman Morris and his wife, Barb, of Spartanburg, South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Rexford Morris.

Calling hours will be Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Rev. Lea Guiney, of the Polk and East Grove United Methodist Churches, and Rev. David Chin, of the Littles Corners United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Clarion.
