Ronald Lee (Ron) Blanford, 77, of Andover and Espyville, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014, at Rolling Fields in Conneautville.
Born June 2, 1937, in Louisville, Kentucky, he was the son of Charles and Virginia Wagner Blanford. He married Bonnie Wooten on March 28, 1970.
Ron served our country in the United States Marines during the Korean War.
He owned and operated the Causeway Lounge, Beer Depot and Propane in Andover, Ohio since 1985.
Ron was a member of the Linesville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7842, the Linesville American Legion Post 462, the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Andover and the Moose Lodge 472 in Conneaut.
Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Bonnie Blanford; two sons, Shane Blanford and his wife, Amy, of Andover and Anthony Blanford of Fairbanks, Alaska; a daughter, Melissa Blanford of Fort Ann, New York; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and three sisters.
As per Ron’s wishes there will be no services.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Rolling Fields and Hospice of Crawford County for their compassionate care during Ron’s stay.
Memorial contributions may be made in Ron’s name to the charity of the donor’s choice.
