Sally Jo Dingman

     Sally Jo Dingman of Stuart, FL passed away on March 5, 2025 at Solaris Healthcare-Parkway nursing home, she was 84 years old.

     Sally was born in Freeport, IL to the late Ernest and Carolee Cheeseman. She graduated from Freeport High School. She later moved to Ohio with two little girls and started working at Penney’s in the men’s department where she sold a sweater to Sid and they were married two months later.

     She became a homemaker and loved volunteering. When the kids were little, she would help at school. She was a member of the Oglewanagi Dancers, a group that performed and taught Native American Culture. She became a member of Beta Sigma Phi, an international service-orientated sorority. She belonged to the Eagles. Moose & Elk’s club in Stuart. She also loved working the polls during elections. She always ended up on the board of whatever group she was a member of at that time. She loved to sew and was an excellent seamstress.

     In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Dingman Sr (married 61 yrs), sister and brother in-law Donna and Don Krzynski, niece Denise Krzynski, granddaughters Samantha Jo Lenihan, Emily Erin Lenihan, brother-in-law Ned (Ann) Dingman and Jerry Dingman.

     Sally is survived by daughter Terri (Jerry) Lenihan of Council Bluffs, IA, son Sidney (Debra) Dingman Jr of Knoxville, TN, daughter Trudy Anderson of Canton, OH, step-daughter Amy Lauer of Buffalo, NY and step-son Jody Dingman of Columbia, PA, 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, niece Deann (Karen) Krzynski, Sisters in law Jill (Paul) Rooney, Betsy Boundy, Betty Ann Dingman, Sharon Dingman, Brother in law Andrew Dingman.

     There will be a private graveside service.
