Sidney Wallace Dingman Sr.

July 20, 1933 — January 1, 2023

Sidney Wallace Dingman Sr of Stuart, FL passed away on January 1, 2023 at Orchid Cove Nursing Home, he was 89. Sidney was born in Andover, OH to the late Wallace & Betty Dingman. He graduated from Williamsfield High School. He started working for the railroad in 1952 & retired as an engineer in 1995. He also worked as a meat cutter for many years.

He lived life to the fullest and befriended many people over the years. He was an Eagle Scout and was involved with the Order of the Arrow. He was part of a group that learned, performed & taught Native American culture, Oglewanagi Dancers. He was a master craftsman and won many awards for his work. He sang with a drum, Red Bird Singers and Red Bird Jr Singers. He loved scuba diving, hunting, singing karaoke and even acted in a few plays. He was a great mentor to many.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his granddaughters Samantha Jo Lenihan, Emily Erin Lenihan, sister-in-law Ann Dingman.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sally Dingman, daughter Amy Lauer of Buffalo, NY, daughter Terri (Jerry) Lenihan of Council Bluffs, IA, son Jody Dingman of Columbia, PA, son Sidney W (Debra) Dingman Jr of Knoxville, TN and daughter Trudy Anderson of Fort Pierce , FL, 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Brothers Ned Dingman, Jerry (Sharon) Dingman, Andrew Dingman, sisters Jill (Paul) Rooney, Betsy Boundy and Betty Ann Dingman.

There will be a private graveside service.
