Susan Ann Stevens

August 8, 1949 — March 26, 2023

Susan Ann Stevens, age 73, of Linesville, Pennsylvania, died unexpectedly on Saturday March 25th.

Born in Erie, Pennsylvania, she was a graduate of Conneaut Valley High School.  She enjoyed baking and canning, for which she won ribbons at the Crawford Country Fair.  She also loved pets, including many dogs over the years, most recently Dixie and her miniature dachshund Maggie.  When she was young she dreamed of having horses and, until recently, kept a miniature horse named ‘Shorty’, who loved apples from the orchard; she is growing apples and feeding them to him in heaven now.

Sue was a hard worker, over several decades she handled all the accounting (‘kept the books’) for several small businesses, including even the tax preparations.  She also was forever busy around the house, from cutting the grass, to refinishing furniture, to planning little remodeling projects.  She would often say things along the lines of ‘God helps those who work their backsides off’.  She believed in and loved God and will live forever in his grace.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Frank Stevens, her daughter Wendy (and partner Mitch), son Matthew (and wife Monika), granddaughter Alicja (‘Alice’) Stevens, grandson Cody Thompson (and wife Emily) and great-grandchildren Hattie and Jack Thompson, as well as her sisters Mary Halbe, Maude Cullers and Dorothy Kebert, brothers Earl Stewart, Robert Stewart and Richard Stewart, her aunt Roberta (Frank) Willis and her uncle Jack (Janice) Chmielewski of Florida, and many nieces, nephews and others.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, William and Maude Stewart, her brother William (‘Bill’) Stewart and many cousins.

A private graveside service will be held at Dicksonburg Cemetery at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, Linesville.
