Susan (Suzie) L. (Headley) Shunkwiler

Susan L. (Susie) Shunkwiler, 86, of Linesville, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2015, at Rolling Fields in Conneautville.

Born December 12, 1928, in Linesville, she was the daughter of William and Charlotte Thompson Headley.  She married Charles Dayton (Shunky) Shunkwiler of September 11, 1950 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.  He preceded her in death on April 24, 2007.

Susie was a 1946 graduate of Linesville High School.  For 30 years, she worked at Talon in Meadville and retired in 1982.

She was a member of the Linesville First Baptist Church and the Lakeland Area Senior Center in Linesville.  She enjoyed golfing, knitting and crocheting.  Susie was a lover of all animals and cared for many animals in the neighborhood.  She enjoyed playing cards at the senior center and with her family especially on Sunday afternoons with her sisters and nieces.

Survivors include a sister, Elaine Sherretts of Linesville; a sister-in-law, Maxine Headley of Linesville; numerous nieces and nephews; and will be sadly missed by her beloved dog, Paris.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and nine siblings, Beryl Kitsa, Bernice Bollard, George Headley, Wilson Headley, Howard Headley, Joyce Cotton, Jean Campbell, Dwayne Headley and an infant twin sister, Sarah Headley.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home following the calling at 1 p.m. with Pastor Art Barnes of the Linesville First Baptist Church officiating.

Burial will be private in Linesville Cemetery.
