     Virginia June Royal, 99, of Greenville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at St. Paul’s Senior Living Community in Greenville.

     Born November 28, 1925, in Alliance, Ohio, she was the daughter of William and Emma (Beebe) Bartlett. She married Carl Royal on February 14, 1946 at the First Presbyterian Church in Greenville.  

     She was a 1944 graduate of Pymatuning Joint Junior-Senior High School in Jamestown.  As a young woman, she served as a volunteer observer for the U.S. Army Aircraft Warning Service, spotting aircraft from a tower outside Jamestown. Virginia started her career at Greenville Steel Car in the payroll department. She worked there for two years, the start of a 61 year career, retiring in 2005 at the age of 80. She had worked in the produce department at the local A&P store, as a dental assistant for Dr. Daniel McDonald, as a secretary at Dart Chevrolet in Greenville, as a receptionist at the Greenville Medical Clinic, as a secretary to the director of nursing at Sharon Regional Hospital, as a manager for the Office of Economic Opportunity in Greenville and as a church secretary for Butler Calvary United Presbyterian Church. Virginia opened her own drapery business, Royal Décor, a business she operated for more than 20 years that included interior decorating. She then, worked in sales and interior decorating for Reeher Carpet and then Carpet Country.

     She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Greenville since she joined in 1938. She was a prayer warrior who kept her family, friends and church members in daily prayer. She used as a guide and model for her life, the 23rd Psalm, the 43rd Psalm, Acts 17: 28, “For in him we live and move and have our being,” and Philippians 4:4, “Rejoice, for this is the day that the Lord has made.”

     Virginia was a member of the Red Hats Society. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. Virginia cherished her family and valued the time she spent with them. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

     Survivors include her daughter, Jocelyn (Ken) Beatty of West Middlesex; son, Robert (Jean) Royal of Adamsville; four grandchildren, Chris (Kristen) Beatty, Chandler (Krista) Beatty, Kevin (Rebecca) Royal and Stephen Ochs; step-grandchildren, Ethan (Beth) Groce, Jared (Jenn) Groce and Amelia Light (fiancé Brandon Urquhart); great-grandchildren, Brooke (Josh) Brown, Jocelyn (boyfriend, Mason) Beatty, Carlie Beatty, Kennedy Beatty, Camryn Beatty, Kaitlyn (Michael) Carlson, Andrew (girlfriend, Madison) Royal and Hadley Ochs; step-great-grandchildren, McKenna and Matthew Longoria and Julia Johnson, Andrew, Kassidy and Kaiya Groce; brother-in-law, Vincent Esposito; and many nieces and nephews.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter-in-law, Kathy Royal; a granddaughter, Kimberly Ochs; siblings, Charles Bartlett, Billie Dufford, Ruth Esposito and Mildred Bartlett.

     The family will receive friends on Monday, March 17, 2025 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.

     The funeral will follow at 6 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Ben Claypool of the Greenville First Presbyterian church officiating.

     Burial will be private in Park Lawn Cemetery in Jamestown.

     The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 323 Main St., Greenville, Pa 16125.
