Wallace “Wally” Luce of Linesville, Pennsylvania (previously of Essex, Connecticut), age 71, passed away peacefully at home with loving family at his side on Wednesday April 12, 2023, following a long and valiant battle with cancer.
The eldest of 11 children, Wally was born February 28, 1952, in Ohio, where he spent his childhood. He served proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps, which eventually led to him meeting his devoted wife, Peggy (Motta) Luce, in New York City. Together for 54 years, Wally and Peggy spent many years residing in Essex, Connecticut, and raising 2 sons before relocating to Linesville.
Wally worked in construction as a roofer and carpenter. During his downtime, he enjoyed fishing with his wife and best friend, Charlie Parrott, and taking trips to the casino. Most of all, he loved spending time with his cherished grandchildren, Nefertiti A. Luce and James A. Luce, both of whom he was very proud. He hopes they live a rich life full of love. In addition to his grandchildren and wife Peggy, Wally is survived by his loving son James Luce and his wife Joan of Pennsylvania, as well as several siblings, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by his younger son Wallace Luce II in 1992.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 20 from 3 until 7 p.m. at the Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Hwy 6, Linesville. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. with full military honors following the service at the funeral home.
