Warren L. Beaver

Warren L. Beaver, 79, of Linesville, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, December 7, 2013, after a yearlong courageous battle with cancer.

Born July 6, 1934 in Saltsburg, Pennsylvania, he was the only child of Jacob and Frances Keely Beaver.  He married his soul mate Loretta Bliazes on April 10, 1954.

Warren lived a beautiful life doing what he loved.  This included spending time with family, hunting, fishing and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates.  He was a strong man with a soft heart.

Growing up in Saltsburg, he played high school football, spent time in the outdoors and did fun things with friends like driving several hours to Harrisburg for a cup of coffee.

He worked as a carpenter, then a truck driver for Air Products, before becoming a conservation officer for the Pennsylvania Fish Commission in June of 1968.  After 29 years of service, he retired in 1997.  He also was a veteran of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers from 1952 until 1960.

Warren loved the outdoors and dealing with people.  He worked very hard at his job, where he was known to be tough but fair.  He was a great father and grandfather.  His respect and concern for others and his loving and caring attitude for his family is a legacy for his children and grandchildren.

Warren was an active member of St. Philip Roman Catholic Church.  He was an officer for the Pymatuning  Lake Association, where he loved selling ads to help promote the Lakeland area.  He was a life-long member of the Linesville Fire Department, where he was an Emergency Medical Technician, responding on ambulance calls for many years.  He was a member of the North Shore Boat Club for many years, where he enjoyed many boat rides and picnics with family and friends.

For many years Warren enjoyed bowling at Eastside lanes.  He was also a member of the Linesville American Legion Post 462.

Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years Loretta Beaver; five children, Deborah Armel of Raleigh, North  Carolina, Karen McMann of Linesville, Warren J. Beaver and his wife, Christine, of Erie, Gregory J. Beaver and his wife, Rebecca, of Monaca, and Jacob J. (Jack) Beaver and his wife, Amy, of Fairview; eleven grandchildren,  Jennifer and Jon Armel, Gary McMann Jr. and his wife, Jeanette, Jeffrey McMann and his wife, Heather, Katherine McMann, Jacob, Sarah, Daniel, David, Samantha and Amanda Beaver; and four great-grandchildren, Marek Cincar, Vincent, Emma, and Lillian McMann.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved chocolate lab Coco.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Royal-Coleman Funeral Home, 6028 U.S. Highway 6, Linesville.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Philip Roman Catholic Church, 401 S. Mercer St., Linesville, with Father Denny Veltri and Father Chris Hamlett concelebrating.

Burial with full military honors provided by Huidekoper Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2006 will be in St. Philip Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a sincere thanks to all who helped care for Warren, including: the Regional Cancer Center, Yolanda Barco Oncology Institute, Hospice of Crawford County, the St. Vincent Health Center doctors and nurses, the staff of Fairview Manor and Father Denny Veltri.  Also a special thanks to Kevin McGrath, Frank and Jill Niemann and the Linesville VFD for helping Warren with his many trips to the cancer center.
